Wichita, Kansas has some of the best coffee shops!

When I spent an entire summer working in Wichita, these coffee shops were my go-to destinations for getting work done or meeting up with a friend.

Wichita is definitely known for its vibrant restaurant scene. However, they don’t get enough credit for the delightful coffee places they have all over the greater Wichita area.

The city has lots of different options for a delicious latte or a quick cup of Joe. And, don’t worry – almost all of these places have free wifi!

Whether you’re a local or just visiting, you’ve got to check out these awesome coffee destinations in Wichita. Let’s jump in!

Pennant Coffee

This Wichita coffee shop is a great spot downtown, just over the Douglas Avenue bridge on the west side of the Arkansas River. I love the minimalist, modern decor and natural light in this shop – it’s the perfect ambiance for working or studying. The baristas here are also very friendly – definitely ask them for recommendations!

WHAT TO ORDER

I’d go for their Dirty Earl – a London Fog inspired latte – perfect for Earl Grey fans like me!

Or you might enjoy their Honey Almond Latte – hot or iced!

For a bite to eat, you might try their avocado toast or their breakfast sandwich.

And what’s super fun… in addition to being a coffee shop during the day, Pennant turns into a bar at night with amazing cocktails and pizza!

Reverie Coffee Roasters

This Wichita coffee shop is definitely a local favorite! I always find Reverie to be quite busy, but this shouldn’t deter you since they have tons of seating.

The bustling atmosphere is also very inviting and makes this place a great one for people watching (one of my favorite coffee shop pastimes).

Their flagship location is in the Douglas Design District, just east of downtown.

WHAT TO ORDER

Reverie’s rosemary salted caramel latte is to die for. So, so delicious. I order mine with oat milk, which pairs nicely with the caramel flavor.

They also have their own housemade, specialty roasts that you might like to try! It’s certainly a unique Wichita experience and you’ve got to stop by!

Greater Grounds Coffee & Co

This is another really fun spot in the Douglas Arts District. Noticing a theme here?

Greater Grounds is a classy, beautifully-decorated shop with delicious coffee and tea selections. They also serve charcuterie and CREPES!!! Seriously, what more could you ask for than coffee and crepes?

And they regularly host events like live music and art showcases on site!

WHAT TO ORDER

For drinks, you can’t go wrong with the Piano Man Latte, made with both white mocha and dark mocha. They also serve their own selection of “refreshers,” including flavors like Kiwi, Strawberry, and Lemonade!

For food, the Great Charcuterie Pretzel is a perfect option for sharing a snack with friends. And there’s a crepe for whatever you are craving – for sweet, I’d try the Banana & Peanut Butter Crepe. And for savory, you might like the Spinach & Artichoke Crepe!

And you’ve got to stop by during their Happy Hour from 4-6pm every day for some great deals!

R Coffeehouse

Another one of the best coffee shops in Wichita is R Coffeehouse!

This location is a little more off the beaten path in one of the neighborhoods near downtown, close to the Little Arkansas River. The coffeehouse is set up in a house with lovely outdoor patio seating. It’s family-owned and features live music, local art, and some really delicious food options as well!

WHAT TO ORDER

I’ve really enjoyed their iced caramel latte, and as far as food goes, their chicken salad sandwich is extremely delicious!

A lot of people are big fans of their breakfast dishes, so it’d be worth it to stop by in the morning for a welcoming cup of coffee and a quick breakfast bite.

The Spice Merchant

Now this place isn’t exactly a coffee shop like the others on this list, but The Spice Merchant is definitely a must-visit!

This company roasts their own coffee and sells their creations at their shop. These various roasts include beans from all over the world and dozens of different flavor combinations.

Not only does the store sell their own coffee creations, but they also have housemade teas and spices, gourmet foods, and cooking accessories.

Just exploring this place and walking down their various aisles is tons of fun. Not to mention, the store smells absolutely amazing as soon as you walk in!

WHAT TO ORDER

Their most popular coffee roast is Jamaican Me Crazy, and with good reason – it’s delicious, with really warm notes of vanilla and rum!

I also really like their Chocolate Raspberry and Coco Loco flavors. And, if you’re not a coffee fan, I love their Earl Grey loose tea blend. I mix it with steamed milk, and it’s quite yummy!

That’s all for my favorite coffee shops in Wichita!
